¹⁷ And the Spirit and ^(A)the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” ^(B)And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.

¹⁷ for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne ^(A)will shepherd them and lead them to ^[a]living fountains of waters. ^(B)And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

The River of Life

22 And he showed me ^(A)a ^[a]pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

The Promise of the Holy Spirit

^37 (A)On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, ^(B)“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. ^38 (C)He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, ^(D)out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” ^39 (E)But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those ^[a]believing in Him would receive; for the ^[b]Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet ^(F)glorified.

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the ^(A)gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you ^(B)living water.”

¹¹ The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? ¹² Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

¹³ Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, ¹⁴ but ^(C)whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him ^(D)will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”
