²⁰ but if you resist and rebel,^(A)
    you will be devoured by the sword.”^(B)

¹² I will destine you for the sword,^(A)
    and all of you will fall in the slaughter;^(B)
for I called but you did not answer,^(C)
    I spoke but you did not listen.^(D)
You did evil in my sight
    and chose what displeases me.”^(E)

¹⁴ then you will find your joy^(A) in the Lord,
    and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights^(B) of the land
    and to feast on the inheritance^(C) of your father Jacob.”

⁵ And the glory^(A) of the Lord will be revealed,
    and all people will see it together.^(B)

¹⁹ God is not human,^(A) that he should lie,^(B)
    not a human being, that he should change his mind.^(C)
Does he speak and then not act?
    Does he promise^(D) and not fulfill?

⁴ Everyone will sit under their own vine
    and under their own fig tree,^(A)
and no one will make them afraid,^(B)
    for the Lord Almighty has spoken.^(C)

²⁵ Your men will fall by the sword,^(A)
    your warriors in battle.^(B)

¹¹ Woe to the wicked!^(A)
    Disaster^(B) is upon them!
They will be paid back^(C)
    for what their hands have done.^(D)
