Hosea 9:7-8
English Standard Version

7 (A)The days of punishment have come;
    the days of recompense have come;
    Israel shall know it.
(B)The prophet is a fool;
    the man of the spirit is mad,
because of your great iniquity
    and great hatred.
8 The prophet is (C)the watchman of Ephraim with my God;
yet (D)a fowler's snare is on all his ways,
    and hatred in the house of his God.

7 The days of (A)punishment have come,
The days of (B)retribution have come;
[a]Let Israel know this!
The prophet is a (C)fool,
The [b]inspired person is (D)insane,
Because of the grossness of your (E)wrongdoing,
And because your [c]hostility is so great.
8 Ephraim was a watchman with my God, a prophet;
Yet the snare of a bird catcher is in all his ways,
And there is only [d]hostility in the house of his God.
