Hosea 6:5-7

⁵ Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets;
    I have slain them ^(A)by the words of my mouth,
    and my judgement goes forth as the light.
⁶ For ^(B)I desire steadfast love^[a] and not sacrifice,
    ^(C)the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.
⁷ But ^(D)like Adam they ^(E)transgressed the covenant;
    ^(F)there they dealt faithlessly with me.
