Hebrews 9:9-11
International Children’s Bible
9 This is an example for the present time. It shows that the gifts and sacrifices offered cannot make the worshiper perfect in his heart. 10 These gifts and sacrifices were only about food and drink and special washings. They were rules for the body, to be followed until the time of God’s new way.

11 But Christ has come as the high priest of the good things we now have.[a] The tent he entered is greater and more perfect. It is not made by men. It does not belong to this world.

9 This is an illustration(A) for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered(B) were not able to clear the conscience(C) of the worshiper. 10 They are only a matter of food(D) and drink(E) and various ceremonial washings(F)—external regulations(G) applying until the time of the new order.

11 But when Christ came as high priest(H) of the good things that are now already here,[a](I) he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle(J) that is not made with human hands,(K) that is to say, is not a part of this creation.
