26 On Mount Sinai, God’s voice shook the earth. But now He has promised, saying, “Once more I will shake the earth and the heavens.” (A)

27 When God says, “Once more,” He means He will take away everything of this world that can be shaken so the things that cannot be shaken will be left.

28 Since we have received a holy nation that cannot be moved, let us be thankful. Let us please God and worship Him with honor and fear.

26 At that time his voice shook the earth,(A) but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[a](B) 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken(C)—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,(D) let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,(E)
