The Word Discovers Our Condition

^11 (A)Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

^24 (A)“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for ^(B)many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

¹⁸ And ^(A)to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? ¹⁹ So we see that they could not enter in because of ^(B)unbelief.

The Promise of Rest

4 Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, ^(C)let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.

²⁸ Come to ^(A)Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take My yoke upon you ^(B)and learn from Me, for I am ^[a]gentle and ^(C)lowly in heart, ^(D)and you will find rest for your souls. ^30 (E)For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent ^(A)to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; ¹¹ for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

¹¹ And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence ^(A)to the full assurance of hope until the end,

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

¹² Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;

¹⁶ They profess to ^(A)know God, but ^(B)in works they deny Him, being ^[a]abominable, disobedient, ^(C)and disqualified for every good work.

Light Bearers

¹² Therefore, my beloved, ^(A)as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, ^(B)work out your own salvation with ^(C)fear and trembling;
