⁵ By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, ^(A)“and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

²¹ Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. ²² After he begot Methuselah, Enoch ^(A)walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. ²³ So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. ²⁴ And ^(B)Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God ^(C)took him.

¹⁴ Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,

¹¹ Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly ^(A)a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah ^(B)went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

⁵¹ Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(A)if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

⁵² Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You ^(B)have a demon! ^(C)Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’

¹⁶ Then they said to him, “Look now, there are fifty strong men with your servants. Please let them go and search for your master, ^(A)lest perhaps the Spirit of the Lord has taken him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.”

And he said, “You shall not send anyone.”

¹⁷ But when they urged him till he was ^(B)ashamed, he said, “Send them!” Therefore they sent fifty men, and they searched for three days but did not find him.

^9 (A)Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations ^[a]will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, ^(B)and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. ^10 (C)And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, ^(D)and send gifts to one another, ^(E)because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

The Witnesses Resurrected

^11 (F)Now after the three-and-a-half days ^(G)the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹² And ^[b]they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” ^(H)And they ascended to heaven ^(I)in a cloud, ^(J)and their enemies saw them.
