By Faith We Understand

11 Now faith is the ^[a]substance of things hoped for, the ^[b]evidence ^(A)of things not seen.

⁷ For ^(A)we walk by faith, not by sight.

^18 (A)while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

²⁴ For we were saved in this hope, but ^(A)hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? ²⁵ But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.

⁷ By faith ^(A)Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, ^(B)prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of ^(C)the righteousness which is according to faith.

²² let us ^(A)draw near with a true heart ^(B)in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

¹⁸ that by two ^[a]immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to ^(A)lie, we ^[b]might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope ^(B)set before us.

¹⁹ This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, ^(C)and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

⁷ that ^(A)the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though ^(B)it is tested by fire, ^(C)may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, ^8 (D)whom having not ^[a]seen you love. ^(E)Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

²⁷ By faith ^(A)he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
