^27 (A)but a fearful expectation of judgment, and ^(B)a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries.

²⁵ See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For ^(A)if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.

^3 (A)how shall we escape if we ^(B)neglect such a great salvation? It was ^(C)declared at first by the Lord, and it was ^(D)attested to us ^(E)by those who heard,

⁵ therefore thus says the Lord God: Surely I have spoken in ^(A)my hot jealousy against the rest of the nations and ^(B)against all Edom, who ^(C)gave my land to themselves as a possession ^(D)with wholehearted joy and ^(E)utter contempt, that they might make its pasturelands a prey.

¹⁵ And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, ^(A)he was thrown into the lake of fire.

¹⁵ Then the kings of the earth and the great ones and the generals and the rich and the powerful, and everyone, slave^[a] and free, ^(A)hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, ^16 (B)calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of ^(C)him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, ¹⁷ for ^(D)the great day of their wrath has come, and ^(E)who can stand?”
