^24 (A)For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

¹⁹ Therefore, whoever nullifies one of the least of these commandments, and teaches ^[a]others to do the same, shall be called least ^(A)in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever ^[b]keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

^4 (A)Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; ^(B)for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

Children and Parents

6 ^(A)Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ^2 (B)Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), ³ so that it may turn out well for you, and that you may live long on the earth.

^4 (C)Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but ^(D)bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
