¹⁰ The ^(A)angel of the Lord also said to her, “^(B)I will greatly multiply your ^[a]descendants so that ^[b]they will be too many to count.”

¹³ And of ^(A)the son of the slave woman I will make a nation also, because he is your ^[a]descendant.”

Descendants of Ishmael

¹² Now these are the records of the generations of ^(A)Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s slave woman, bore to Abraham; ¹³ and these are the names of ^(B)the sons of Ishmael, by their names, ^[a]in the order of their birth: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, ¹⁴ Mishma, Dumah, Massa, ¹⁵ Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. ¹⁶ These are the sons of Ishmael and these are their names, by their villages, and by their camps; ^(C)twelve princes according to their ^[b]tribes.
