⁴ But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, ^(A)its blood.

¹⁷ It is a ^(A)permanent statute throughout your generations in all your dwelling places: you shall not eat any fat ^(B)or any blood.’”

²⁶ And ^(A)you are not to eat any blood, either of bird or animal, in any of your dwellings. ²⁷ Any person who eats any blood, that person shall also be cut off from his people.’”

^16 (A)Only you shall not eat the blood; ^(B)you are to pour it out on the ground like water.

²³ Only be sure ^(A)not to eat the blood, for the blood is the ^[a]life, and you shall not eat the ^[b]life with the flesh. ²⁴ You shall not eat it; you shall pour it out on the ground like water. ²⁵ You shall not eat it, so that ^(B)it may go well for you and your sons after you, since ^(C)you will be doing what is right in the sight of the Lord.

³³ Then observers informed Saul, saying, “Look, the people are ^(A)sinning against the Lord by eating meat with the blood.” And he said, “You have acted treacherously; roll a large rock to me today.”
