¹³ I am the God of Bethel, ^(A)where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now ^(B)arise, go out from this land and return to the land of your kindred.’”

⁴⁵ So Jacob ^(A)took a stone and set it up as a pillar.

¹⁴ And Jacob ^(A)set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.

¹² Then Samuel ^(A)took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen^[a] and called its name Ebenezer;^[b] for he said, “Till now the Lord has helped us.”

¹⁸ Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and set up for himself ^(A)the pillar that is in ^(B)the King's Valley, for he said, ^(C)“I have no son to keep my name in remembrance.” He called the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absalom's monument^[a] to this day.
