⁸ But Noah^(A) found favor in the eyes of the Lord.^(B)

¹⁹ Your^[a] servant has found favor in your^[b] eyes,^(A) and you^[c] have shown great kindness^(B) to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains;^(C) this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die.

¹⁶ Let us then approach^(A) God’s throne of grace with confidence,^(B) so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

³⁰ But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid,^(A) Mary; you have found favor with God.^(B)

Moses and the Glory of the Lord

¹² Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’^(A) but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name^(B) and you have found favor^(C) with me.’ ¹³ If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways^(D) so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”^(E)

¹⁴ The Lord replied, “My Presence^(F) will go with you, and I will give you rest.”^(G)

¹⁵ Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence^(H) does not go with us, do not send us up from here. ¹⁶ How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?^(I) What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”^(J)

¹⁷ And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked,^(K) because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.”^(L)

¹¹ For the grace^(A) of God has appeared^(B) that offers salvation to all people.^(C)

⁴ Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift^(A) but as an obligation.
