⁷ God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to keep alive for you many survivors.

³⁵ “It was this Moses whom they rejected when they said, ‘Who made you a ruler and a judge?’ and whom God now sent as both ruler and liberator through the angel who appeared to him in the bush.^(A)

¹⁸ By then he was very thirsty, and he called on the Lord, saying, “You have granted this great victory by the hand of your servant. Am I now to die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”^(A)

¹⁴ but he and David took their stand in the middle of the plot, defended it, and killed the Philistines, and the Lord saved them by a great victory.
