⁸ And they said to him, ^(A)“We each have had a dream, and there is no interpreter of it.”

So Joseph said to them, ^(B)“Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell them to me, please.”

⁴⁷ The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly ^(A)your God is the God of ^(B)gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.”

¹⁵ And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. ^(A)But I have heard it said of you that you can understand a dream, to interpret it.”

¹⁶ So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, ^(B)“It is not in me; ^(C)God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.”

^28 (A)But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar ^(B)what will be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, were these:

^10 (A)to another the working of miracles, to another ^(B)prophecy, to another ^(C)discerning of spirits, to another ^(D)different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ But one and the same Spirit works all these things, ^(E)distributing to each one individually ^(F)as He wills.

^11 (A)There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your ^[a]father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your ^[b]father—your father the king—made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers. ¹² Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and ^[c]explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, ^(B)whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.”

¹³ Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king spoke, and said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel ^[d]who is one of the captives from Judah, whom my ^[e]father the king brought from Judah? ¹⁴ I have heard of you, that ^(C)the ^[f]Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you. ¹⁵ Now ^(D)the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not give the interpretation of the thing.

¹¹ It is a ^[a]difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king ^(A)except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”
