⁷ The Lord God of heaven, who ^(A)took me from my father’s house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, ^(B)‘To your ^[a]descendants I give this land,’ ^(C)He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

^2 (A)And I will send My Angel before you, ^(B)and I will drive out the Canaanite and the Amorite and the Hittite and the Perizzite and the Hivite and the Jebusite.

¹⁵ for all the land which you see ^(A)I give to you and ^(B)your ^[a]descendants forever.

^14 (A)Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will ^(B)inherit salvation?

¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You ^(A)swore by Your own self, and said to them, ^(B)‘I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven; and all this land that I have spoken of I give to your descendants, and they shall inherit it forever.’ ”

The Angel and the Promises

^20 (A)“Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. ²¹ Beware of Him and obey His voice; ^(B)do not provoke Him, for He will ^(C)not pardon your transgressions; for ^(D)My name is in Him. ²² But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then ^(E)I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. ^23 (F)For My Angel will go before you and ^(G)bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will ^[a]cut them off.
