¹¹ But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

⁴ When the Lord saw that he had turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.”

¹⁷ And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Do not be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.^(A)

⁹ The angel of the Lord said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit to her.” ¹⁰ The angel of the Lord also said to her, “I will so greatly multiply your offspring that they cannot be counted for multitude.”^(A)

¹⁴ When we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew^[a] language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It hurts you to kick against the goads.’^(A)

⁴ He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”^(A)

¹⁰ Now the Lord came and stood there, calling as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

⁷ The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur.^(A)

¹⁶ and said, “By myself I have sworn, says the Lord: Because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son,^(A)

¹² He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”^(A)
