⁶ Abram traveled through the land^(A) as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh^(B) at Shechem.^(C) At that time the Canaanites^(D) were in the land.

³⁰ As you know, these mountains are across the Jordan, westward, toward the setting sun, near the great trees of Moreh,^(A) in the territory of those Canaanites living in the Arabah in the vicinity of Gilgal.^(B)

⁹ By faith he made his home in the promised land^(A) like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents,^(B) as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.^(C)

⁴ So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears,^(A) and Jacob buried them under the oak^(B) at Shechem.^(C)
