to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that (A)the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

But from those (B)who seemed to be something—whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; (C)God [a]shows personal favoritism to no man—for those who seemed to be something (D)added nothing to me. But on the contrary, (E)when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised (F)had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the (G)circumcised (H)also (I)worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles), and when James, [b]Cephas, and John, who seemed to be (J)pillars, perceived (K)the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, (L)that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10 They desired only that we should remember the poor, (M)the very thing which I also was eager to do.

We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel(A) might be preserved for you.

As for those who were held in high esteem(B)—whatever they were makes no difference to me; God does not show favoritism(C)—they added nothing to my message.(D) On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task(E) of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised,[a](F) just as Peter(G) had been to the circumcised.[b] For God, who was at work in Peter as an apostle(H) to the circumcised, was also at work in me as an apostle(I) to the Gentiles.
