¹⁶ Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of ^(A)one, ^(B)“And to your Seed,” who is ^(C)Christ.

⁷ And I will ^(A)establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, ^(B)to be God to you and ^(C)your descendants after you. ⁸ Also ^(D)I give to you and your descendants after you the land ^(E)in^[a] which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and ^(F)I will be their God.”

The Promise Granted Through Faith

¹³ For the promise that he would be the ^(A)heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

²⁷ For ^(A)as many of you as were baptized into Christ ^(B)have put on Christ. ^28 (C)There is neither Jew nor Greek, ^(D)there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all ^(E)one in Christ Jesus. ²⁹ And ^(F)if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s ^(G)seed, and ^(H)heirs according to the promise.

¹⁷ blessing I will ^(A)bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants ^(B)as the stars of the heaven ^(C)and as the sand which is on the seashore; and ^(D)your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. ^18 (E)In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, ^(F)because you have obeyed My voice.”

¹⁶ Therefore it is of faith that it might be ^(A)according to grace, ^(B)so that the promise might be ^[a]sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, ^(C)who is the father of us all

^13 (A)And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: ^(B)“I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; ^(C)the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. ¹⁴ Also your ^(D)descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad ^(E)to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and ^(F)in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

^3 (A)Dwell in this land, and ^(B)I will be with you and ^(C)bless you; for to you and your descendants ^(D)I give all these lands, and I will perform ^(E)the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. ⁴ And ^(F)I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; ^(G)and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed;
