²¹ It was eaten by the people of Israel who had returned from exile, and ^(A)also by every one who had joined them and separated himself ^(B)from the uncleanness of the peoples of the land to worship the Lord, the God of Israel.

¹¹ which you commanded by your servants the prophets, saying, ‘The land that you are entering, to take possession of it, is a land impure with the impurity of the peoples of the lands, with their abominations that have filled it from end to end with ^(A)their uncleanness.

7 Since we have these promises, beloved, ^(A)let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body^[a] and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.

^2 (A)And the Israelites^[a] separated themselves from all foreigners and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.

9 After these things had been done, the officials approached me and said, “The people of Israel and the priests and the ^(A)Levites have not separated themselves from the peoples of the lands ^(B)with their abominations, from the ^(C)Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

^47 (A)All the congregation of Israel shall keep it. ^48 (B)If a stranger shall sojourn with you and would keep the Passover to the Lord, let all his males be circumcised. Then he may come near and keep it; he ^(C)shall be as a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person shall eat of it. ⁴⁹ There shall be ^(D)one law for the native and for the ^(E)stranger who sojourns among you.”

^25 (A)I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from ^(B)all your uncleannesses, and ^(C)from all your idols ^(D)I will cleanse you.
