¹³ so that the people could not distinguish the sound of the joyful shout from the sound of the people's weeping, for the people shouted with a great shout, and the sound was heard far away.

³⁷ As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—^(A)the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice ^(B)for all the mighty works that they had seen, ³⁸ saying, ^(C)“Blessed is ^(D)the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and ^(E)glory in the highest!” ^39 (F)And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” ⁴⁰ He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, ^(G)the very stones would cry out.”

⁷ Who are you, ^(A)O great mountain? Before ^(B)Zerubbabel ^(C)you shall become a plain. And he shall bring forward ^(D)the top stone amid shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’”

^11 (A)the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring ^(B)thank offerings to the house of the Lord:

^(D)For I will restore the fortunes of the land as at first, says the Lord.

His Steadfast Love Endures Forever

A Psalm for ^(A)giving thanks.

⁴³ And they offered great sacrifices that day and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and children also rejoiced. And the joy of Jerusalem was heard far away.

⁴⁵ And Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at ^(A)Gihon, and they have gone up from there rejoicing, so that the city is in an uproar. This is the noise that you have heard.

⁴⁰ And all the people went up after him, playing on pipes, and rejoicing with great joy, so that the earth was split by their noise.
