Ezekiel 44:9-14

9 “Thus says the Lord God: No foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, of all the foreigners who are among the people of Israel, shall enter my sanctuary. 10 But the Levites who went far from me, going astray from me after their idols when Israel went astray, shall bear their punishment.(A) 11 They shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having oversight at the gates of the temple and serving in the temple; they shall slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall attend on them and serve them.(B) 12 Because they ministered to them before their idols and made the house of Israel stumble into iniquity, therefore I have sworn concerning them, says the Lord God, that they shall bear their punishment.(C) 13 They shall not come near to me, to serve me as priest, nor come near any of my sacred offerings, the things that are most sacred, but they shall bear their shame and the consequences of the abominations that they have committed.(D) 14 Yet I will appoint them to keep charge of the temple, to do all its chores, all that is to be done in it.(E)

9 Thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Every foreigner[a] uncircumcised of heart and uncircumcised of flesh shall not come into my sanctuary—not any of the foreigners[b] who are in the midst of the Israelites.[c] 10 But[d] the Levites who removed themselves from me at the going astray of Israel,[e] who went astray from me and went after their idols, as a result they will bear their guilt. 11 Then they will be[f] in my sanctuary, those serving in my sanctuary, as sentries[g] at the gates of the temple[h] and as those serving the temple;[i] they will slaughter the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they will stand before them[j] to serve them, 12 because[k] they used to serve them before[l] their idols and they were for the house of Israel like a stumbling block of iniquity. Therefore I swore[m] concerning them,” declares[n] the Lord Yahweh, “that they will bear their iniquity. 13 And they shall not approach me to serve as a priest for me and to come near to all of[o] my holy objects, to the most holy objects, [p] and they will bear their disgrace and the results of their detestable things they have done. 14 And I will appoint them as the keepers of the responsibility of[q] the temple, for all of its work[r] and everything [s]which will be done in it.
