The Outer Court

¹⁷ Then he brought me into ^(A)the outer court; and there were ^(B)chambers and a pavement made all around the court; ^(C)thirty chambers faced the pavement.

² But leave out ^(A)the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, ^(B)for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will ^(C)tread the holy city underfoot for ^(D)forty-two months.

The Chambers for the Priests

42 Then he ^(A)brought me out into the outer court, by the way toward the ^(B)north; and he brought me into ^(C)the chamber which was opposite the separating courtyard, and which was opposite the building toward the north.

²¹ Then he brought me out into the outer court and caused me to pass by the four corners of the court; and in fact, in every corner of the court there was another court.

^5 (A)An area twenty-five thousand cubits long and ten thousand wide shall belong to the Levites, the ministers of the ^[a]temple; they shall have ^(B)twenty^[b] chambers as a possession.

⁵ And the ^(A)sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court, like ^(B)the voice of Almighty God when He speaks.

¹¹ Now Hezekiah commanded them to prepare ^(A)rooms^[a] in the house of the Lord, and they prepared them.

²⁸ because their duty was to help the sons of Aaron in the service of the house of the Lord, in the courts and in the chambers, in the purifying of all holy things and the work of the service of the house of God,

²⁶ For in this trusted office were four chief gatekeepers; they were Levites. And they had charge over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.

⁴ In front of the chambers, toward the inside, was a walk ten cubits wide, at a distance of one cubit; and their doors faced north.
