²⁵ “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will now restore the fortunes of Jacob^[a](A) and will have compassion^(B) on all the people of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name.^(C)

¹³ I will bring them out from the nations and gather^(A) them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land.^(B) I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.^(C)

¹² In that day the Lord will thresh^(A) from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt,^(B) and you, Israel, will be gathered^(C) up one by one. ¹³ And in that day^(D) a great trumpet^(E) will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled^(F) in Egypt^(G) will come and worship^(H) the Lord on the holy mountain^(I) in Jerusalem.

¹¹ The people of Judah and the people of Israel will come together;^(A) they will appoint one leader^(B) and will come up out of the land,^(C) for great will be the day of Jezreel.^[a](D)

²¹ and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.^{(A) 22} I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel.^(B) There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.^(C)

⁴⁰ For on my holy mountain, the high mountain of Israel,^(A) declares the Sovereign Lord, there in the land all the people of Israel will serve me, and there I will accept them. There I will require your offerings^(B) and your choice gifts,^[a] along with all your holy sacrifices.^(C)

³ The days^(A) are coming,’ declares the Lord, ‘when I will bring^(B) my people Israel and Judah back from captivity^[a] and restore^(C) them to the land I gave their ancestors to possess,’ says the Lord.”

²¹ I had concern for my holy name, which the people of Israel profaned among the nations where they had gone.^(A)

²² “Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name,^(B) which you have profaned^(C) among the nations where you have gone.^{(D) 23} I will show the holiness of my great name,^(E) which has been profaned^(F) among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord,^(G) declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy^(H) through you before their eyes.^(I)

²⁴ “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.^(J)

⁴ therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign Lord: This is what the Sovereign Lord says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys,^(A) to the desolate ruins^(B) and the deserted^(C) towns that have been plundered and ridiculed^(D) by the rest of the nations around you^(E)— ⁵ this is what the Sovereign Lord says: In my burning^(F) zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, for with glee and with malice in their hearts they made my land their own possession so that they might plunder its pastureland.’^{(G) 6} Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I speak in my jealous wrath because you have suffered the scorn of the nations.^(H)
