³ He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.”^(A)

²⁵ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.^[a] Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live,^{(A) 26} and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

²¹ Indeed, just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.^(A)

¹⁷ as it is written, “I have made you the father of many nations”), in the presence of the God in whom he believed,^[a] who gives life to the dead and calls into existence the things that do not exist.^(A)

¹⁹ He considered the fact that God is able even to raise someone from the dead—and, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.^(A)

⁹ Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death so that we would rely not on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. ¹⁰ He who rescued us from so deadly a peril will continue to rescue us;^[a] on him we have set our hope that he will rescue us again,^(A)

⁸ Why is it thought incredible by any of you that God raises the dead?^(A)

⁵ When he looked up and saw a large crowd coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread for these people to eat?”^{(A) 6} He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he was going to do.
