^28 (A)And I will make the land a desolation and a waste, and ^(B)her proud might shall come to an end, and ^(C)the mountains of Israel shall be so desolate that none will pass through.

²⁴ I will bring ^(A)the worst of the nations to take possession of their houses. ^(B)I will put an end to the pride of the strong, ^(C)and their holy places^[a] shall be profaned.

²¹ ‘Say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: ^(A)Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the yearning of your soul, and ^(B)your sons and your daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword.

¹⁴ And ^(A)I will stretch out my hand against them and ^(B)make the land desolate and waste, ^(C)in all their dwelling places, from the wilderness to ^(D)Riblah.^[a] Then ^(E)they will know that I am the Lord.”

^22 (A)The Lord could no longer bear your evil deeds and ^(B)the abominations that you committed. ^(C)Therefore your land has become ^(D)a desolation and a waste and a curse, ^(E)without inhabitant, as it is this day.

^6 (A)Therefore my wrath and my anger were poured out and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, ^(B)and they became a waste and a desolation, as at this day.

² “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the disaster that I brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah. Behold, this day ^(A)they are a desolation, and no one dwells in them,

^13 (A)“As I^[a] called, and they would not hear, ^(B)so they called, and I would not hear,” says the Lord of hosts, ^14 (C)“and I scattered them with a whirlwind among all ^(D)the nations that they had not known. ^(E)Thus the land they left was desolate, ^(F)so that no one went to and fro, ^(G)and the pleasant land was made desolate.”
