²⁰ Yet you say, “The way of the Lord is not just.” O house of Israel, I will judge all of you according to your ways!^(A)

²⁵ Yet you say, “The way of the Lord is unfair.” Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way unfair? Is it not your ways that are unfair?^(A)

¹² “See, I am coming soon; my reward is with me, to repay according to everyone’s work.^(A)

¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, as recorded in the books.^{(A) 13} And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and all were judged according to what they had done.^{(B) 14} Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire,^{(C) 15} and anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

¹⁰ For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive due recompense for actions done in the body, whether good or evil.^(A)

²⁹ and will come out: those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation.^(A)

²⁷ “For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done.^(A)

¹⁷ Yet your people say, “The way of the Lord is not just,” when it is their own way that is not just.

²⁹ Yet the house of Israel says, “The way of the Lord is unfair.” O house of Israel, are my ways unfair? Is it not your ways that are unfair?

³⁰ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, all of you according to your ways, says the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions; otherwise iniquity will be your ruin.^[a](A)

¹⁴ For God will bring every deed into judgment, including^[a] every secret thing, whether good or evil.^(A)
