19 Therefore thus says the Lord God: I will give the land of Egypt to King Nebuchadrezzar of Babylon, and he shall carry off its wealth and despoil it and plunder it, and it shall be the wages for his army.(A)

those who are destined for pestilence, to pestilence,
    and those who are destined for captivity, to captivity,
    and those who are destined for the sword, to the sword.(B)

12 “I shall kindle a fire in the temples of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them and carry them away captive, and he shall pick clean the land of Egypt as a shepherd picks his cloak clean of vermin, and he shall depart from there safely.(C) 13 He shall break the obelisks of Heliopolis, which is in the land of Egypt, and the temples of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire.”

24 I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him with the groans of one mortally wounded.(A) 25 I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall. 12 I will dry up the channels of the Nile
    and will sell the land into the hand of evildoers;
I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it
    by the hand of foreigners;
I the Lord have spoken.(C)

Therefore, thus says the Lord God: I will bring a sword upon you and will cut off from you human and animal,(A) and the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.

Because you[a] said, “The Nile is mine, and I made it,” 10 therefore, I am against you and against your channels, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Syene, as far as the border of Cush.(B)
