¹⁵ “If I cause ^(A)wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ^[a]empty it, and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts,

¹⁷ So I will send against you famine and ^(A)wild beasts, and they will bereave you. ^(B)Pestilence and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I, the Lord, have spoken.’ ”

³ “And I will ^(A)appoint over them four forms of destruction,” says the Lord: “the sword to slay, the dogs to drag, ^(B)the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the earth to devour and destroy.

²⁵ And it was so, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they did not fear the Lord; therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which killed some of them.

³⁶ Then he said to him, “Because you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, surely, as soon as you depart from me, a lion shall kill you.” And as soon as he left him, ^(A)a lion found him and killed him.
