²³ Tell them therefore, ‘Thus says the Lord God: I will put an end to this proverb, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel.’ But say to them, ^(A)The days are near, and the fulfillment^[a] of every vision.

The Day of the Lord

⁸ You also, be patient. ^(A)Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord ^(B)is at hand. ⁹ Do not grumble against one another, brothers, ^(C)so that you may not be judged; behold, ^(D)the Judge is standing ^(E)at the door.

^34 (A)Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

The Great Day of the Lord

4 ^[a] “For behold, ^(A)the day is coming, ^(B)burning like an oven, when ^(C)all the arrogant and ^(D)all evildoers ^(E)will be stubble. The day that is coming ^(F)shall set them ablaze, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

^3 (A)As I live, declares the Lord God, ^(B)this proverb shall no more be used by you in Israel.

²⁵ For I am the Lord; I will speak ^(A)the word that I will speak, and it will be performed. ^(B)It will no longer be delayed, but in your days, ^(C)O rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it, declares the Lord God.”

^10 (A)“Behold, the day! Behold, it comes! ^(B)Your doom has come; ^(C)the rod has blossomed; pride has budded. ^11 (D)Violence has grown up into ^(E)a rod of wickedness. ^(F)None of them shall remain, nor their abundance, nor their wealth; neither shall there be preeminence among them.^{[a] 12 (G)}The time has come; the day has arrived. Let not ^(H)the buyer rejoice, nor ^(I)the seller mourn, ^(J)for wrath is upon all their multitude.^[b]
