¹⁹ And ^(A)the cherubim lifted their wings and mounted up from the earth in my sight. When they went out, the wheels were beside them; and they stood at the door of the ^(B)east gate of the Lord’s house, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

^4 (A)And the glory of the Lord came into the ^[a]temple by way of the gate which faces toward the east.

²² So the cherubim ^(A)lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was high above them. ²³ And ^(B)the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city and stood ^(C)on the mountain, ^(D)which is on the east side of the city.

Judgment on Wicked Counselors

11 Then ^(A)the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to ^(B)the East Gate of the Lord’s house, which faces eastward; and there ^(C)at the door of the gate were twenty-five men, among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

The Glory Departs from the Temple

10 And I looked, and there in the ^(A)firmament^[a] that was above the head of the cherubim, there appeared something like a sapphire stone, having the appearance of the likeness of a throne.

¹⁶ So He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the Lord, ^(A)between the porch and the altar, ^(B)were about twenty-five men ^(C)with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping ^(D)the sun toward the east.

^26 (A)And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, ^(B)in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above ^(C)it. ²⁷ Also from the appearance of His waist and upward ^(D)I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around. ^28 (E)Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. ^(F)This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.

Ezekiel Sent to Rebellious Israel

So when I saw it, ^(G)I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.

¹⁷ When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went. ¹⁸ As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were ^(A)full of eyes, all around the four of them. ^19 (B)When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. ²⁰ Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, ^(C)for the spirit of the ^[a]living creatures was in the wheels. ²¹ When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the ^[b]living creatures was in the wheels.
