^19 (A)And the cherubim lifted up their wings and mounted up from the earth ^(B)before my eyes as they went out, with the wheels beside them. And they stood at the entrance of the ^(C)east gate of the house of the Lord, and ^(D)the glory of the God of Israel was over them.

⁴ As ^(A)the glory of the Lord ^(B)entered the temple by the gate facing east,

^22 (A)Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, ^(B)and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. ²³ And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city and ^(C)stood on the mountain that is on the east side of the city.

Judgment on Wicked Counselors

11 ^(A)The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to ^(B)the east gate of the house of the Lord, which faces east. And behold, at the entrance of the gateway there were ^(C)twenty-five men. And I saw among them Jaazaniah ^(D)the son of Azzur, and ^(E)Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

The Glory of the Lord Leaves the Temple

10 Then I looked, and behold, ^(A)on the expanse that was over the heads of the cherubim there appeared above them something ^(B)like a sapphire,^[a] in appearance like a throne.

¹⁶ And he brought me into ^(A)the inner court of the house of the Lord. And behold, at the entrance of the temple of the Lord, ^(B)between the ^(C)porch and ^(D)the altar, were about twenty-five men, ^(E)with their backs to the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east, worshiping ^(F)the sun toward the east.

²⁶ And above the expanse over their heads there was ^(A)the likeness of a throne, ^(B)in appearance ^(C)like sapphire;^[a] and seated above the likeness of a throne was ^(D)a likeness with a human appearance. ²⁷ And ^(E)upward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were ^(F)gleaming metal, like the appearance of fire enclosed all around. And downward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and ^(G)there was brightness around him.^{[b] 28} Like the appearance of ^(H)the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around.

Such was the appearance of the likeness of ^(I)the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, ^(J)I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

^17 (A)When they went, they went ^(B)in any of their four directions^{[a] (C)}without turning as they went. ¹⁸ And their rims were tall and awesome, ^(D)and the rims of all four were full of eyes all around. ^19 (E)And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; ^(F)and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose. ^20 (G)Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, and the wheels rose along with them, ^(H)for the spirit of the living creatures^[b] was in the wheels. ^21 (I)When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; ^(J)and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them, ^(K)for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
