³ But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart^(A) and multiply My signs and wonders in the land of Egypt. ⁴ Pharaoh will not listen to you, but I will put My hand on Egypt and bring the divisions of My people the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment.

²² For false messiahs^[a] and false prophets will rise up and will perform signs and wonders^(A) to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

²³ While He was in Jerusalem^(A) at the Passover Festival,^(B) many trusted in His name^(C) when they saw the signs He was doing. ²⁴ Jesus, however, would not entrust Himself to them, since He knew them all ²⁵ and because He did not need anyone to testify about man; for He Himself knew what was in man.^(D)

²⁶ Jesus answered, “I assure you: You are looking for Me, not because you saw^[a] the signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
