¹³ “^(A)You shall not murder.

¹⁴ “^(B)You shall not commit adultery.

¹⁵ “^(C)You shall not steal.

¹⁶ “^(D)You shall not ^[a]give false testimony against your ^(E)neighbor.

¹⁷ “^(F)You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; ^(G)you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male slave, or his female slave, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

¹⁶ You shall not go about as ^(A)a slanderer among your people; and you are not to ^[a]jeopardize the ^[b](B)life of your neighbor. I am the Lord.

¹⁷ ‘You ^(C)shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you ^(D)may certainly rebuke your neighbor, but you are not to incur sin because of him. ^18 (E)You shall not take vengeance, ^(F)nor hold any grudge against the sons of your people, but ^(G)you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.

⁸ Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying, ⁹ “This is what the Lord of armies has said: ‘^(A)Dispense true justice and practice ^(B)kindness and compassion each to his brother; ¹⁰ and ^(C)do not oppress the widow or the ^[a]orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do ^(D)not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’

¹³ “You are the salt of the earth; but ^(A)if the salt has become tasteless, how ^[a]can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people.

¹⁴ “You are ^(B)the light of the world. A city set on a ^[b]hill cannot be hidden; ^15 (C)nor do people light a lamp and put it under a ^[c]basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶ Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may ^(D)see your good works, and ^(E)glorify your Father who is in heaven.
