⁹ And the Lord said to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, ^(A)it is a stiff-necked people.

⁶ “Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are ^(A)a stubborn people.

¹⁶ Circumcise therefore ^(A)the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer ^(B)stubborn.

¹⁴ But they would not listen, ^(A)but were stubborn, as their fathers had been, who did not believe in the Lord their God.

¹⁶ “But they and our fathers ^(A)acted presumptuously and stiffened their neck and did not obey your commandments.

^29 (A)And you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet ^(B)they acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, ^(C)which if a person does them, he shall live by them, ^(D)and they turned a stubborn shoulder ^(E)and stiffened their neck and would not obey.

^26 (A)Yet they did not listen to me or incline their ear, ^(B)but stiffened their neck. ^(C)They did worse than their fathers.

²³ Yet ^(A)they did not listen or incline their ear, ^(B)but stiffened their neck, that they ^(C)might not hear and receive instruction.

^51 (A)“You stiff-necked people, ^(B)uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. ^(C)As your fathers did, so do you.
