(A)And Moses took the blood and threw it on the people and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and (B)seventy of the elders of Israel (C)went up, 10 and they (D)saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of (E)sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness. 11 And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and (F)ate and drank.

12 The Lord said to Moses, (G)“Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the (H)tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.” 13 So Moses rose with his assistant (I)Joshua, and Moses went up (J)into the mountain of God. 14 And he said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and (K)Hur are with you. Whoever has a dispute, let him go to them.”

15 Then Moses went up on the mountain, and (L)the cloud covered the mountain. 16 (M)The glory of the Lord dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. 17 Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a (N)devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel. 18 Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses (O)was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people(A) and said, “This is the blood of the covenant(B) that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders(C) of Israel went up 10 and saw(D) the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli,(E) as bright blue as the sky.(F) 11 But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw(G) God, and they ate and drank.(H)

12 The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone(I) with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”

13 Then Moses set out with Joshua(J) his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain(K) of God. 14 He said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we come back to you. Aaron and Hur(L) are with you, and anyone involved in a dispute(M) can go to them.”

15 When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud(N) covered it, 16 and the glory(O) of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai.(P) For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud.(Q) 17 To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire(R) on top of the mountain. 18 Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty(S) days and forty nights.(T)
