16 And the glory of the Lord abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered [a]it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
17 And the sight of the glory of the Lord was like [b]consuming fire on the top of the mountain, in the eyes of the children of Israel.
18 And Moses entered into the midst of the cloud, and went up to the mountain and Moses was in the (A)mount forty days and forty nights.

New International Version
16 and the glory(A) of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai.(B) For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud.(C) 17 To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire(D) on top of the mountain. 18 Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty(E) days and forty nights.(F)
