¹⁸ Behold, tomorrow about this time I will cause very heavy hail to rain down, such as has not been in Egypt since its founding until now.

The Syrians Flee

7 Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: ^(A)‘Tomorrow about this time a ^[a]seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ”

⁶ but I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants. And it shall be, that whatever is ^[a]pleasant in your eyes, they will put it in their hands and take it.’ ”

² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, ^(A)“So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”

²² Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be ^(A)hail in all the land of Egypt—on man, on beast, and on every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.” ²³ And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and ^(B)the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire darted to the ground. And the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt. ²⁴ So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, so very heavy that there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. ²⁵ And the ^(C)hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field.

¹⁸ So it happened just as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, ^(A)“Two seahs of barley for a shekel, and a seah of fine flour for a shekel, shall be sold tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria.”
