¹⁵ For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth.

²⁰ So ^(A)I will stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with ^(B)all the wonders that I will do in it; ^(C)after that he will let you go.

^34 (A)And this thing became sin to the house of Jeroboam, ^(B)so as to cut it off and to destroy it from the face of the earth.

²⁸ The ^(A)waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen; of all the host of Pharaoh that had followed them into the sea, ^(B)not one of them remained.

The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn

^29 (A)At midnight the ^(B)Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, ^(C)from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock. ³⁰ And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians. And there was ^(D)a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where someone was not dead.

⁴ So Moses said, “Thus says the Lord: ^(A)‘About midnight I will go out in the midst of Egypt, ⁵ and every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the slave girl who is ^(B)behind the handmill, and all the firstborn of the cattle. ^6 (C)There shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there has never been, nor ever will be again.

^16 (A)But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so ^(B)that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.

⁶ And the next day the Lord did this thing. ^(A)All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died.

³ behold, ^(A)the hand of the Lord will fall with a very severe plague upon your livestock that are in the field, the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds, and the flocks.
