The Altar of Incense^(A)

²⁵ They made the altar of incense^(B) out of acacia wood. It was square, a cubit long and a cubit wide and two cubits high^[a]—its horns^(C) of one piece with it.

The Altar of Incense^(A)

30 “Make an altar^(B) of acacia wood for burning incense.^{(C) 2} It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high^[a]—its horns^(D) of one piece with it. ³ Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it.^{(E) 4} Make two gold rings^(F) for the altar below the molding—two on each of the opposite sides—to hold the poles used to carry it. ⁵ Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.^(G)

³ Another angel,^(A) who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people,^(B) on the golden altar^(C) in front of the throne. ⁴ The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God^(D) from the angel’s hand.

⁵ you also, like living stones, are being built^(A) into a spiritual house^[a](B) to be a holy priesthood,^(C) offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.^(D)

²⁵ Therefore he is able to save^(A) completely^[a] those who come to God^(B) through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.^(C)

¹⁰ We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle^(A) have no right to eat.^(B)

⁹ he was chosen by lot,^(A) according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense.^{(B) 10} And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.^(C)

¹⁹ You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred?^(A)

¹⁶ But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride^(A) led to his downfall.^(B) He was unfaithful^(C) to the Lord his God, and entered the temple of the Lord to burn incense^(D) on the altar of incense.
