¹⁶ For how shall it be known that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? ^(A)Is it not in your going with us, ^(B)so that we are distinct, I and your people, from every other people on the face of the earth?”

¹⁴ and they will tell the inhabitants of this land. ^(A)They have heard that you, O Lord, are in the midst of this people. For you, O Lord, are seen face to face, and ^(B)your cloud stands over them and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.

⁷ For ^(A)what great nation is there that has ^(B)a god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him?

(which means, God ^(C)with us).

⁵³ For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to be your heritage, ^(A)as you declared through Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.”

The Covenant Renewed

¹⁰ And he said, “Behold, ^(A)I am making a covenant. Before all your people ^(B)I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord, for it is an ^(C)awesome thing that I will do with you.

⁵ Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be ^(A)my treasured possession among all peoples, for ^(B)all the earth is mine; ⁶ and you shall be to me a ^(C)kingdom of priests and ^(D)a holy nation.’ These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.”
