¹⁷ It is a sign forever between me and the Israelites that in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’ ”^(A)

³¹ God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.^(A)

¹³ “You yourself are to speak to the Israelites, ‘You shall surely keep my Sabbaths, for this is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, given in order that you may know that I, the Lord, sanctify you.^(A)

² On the sixth^[a] day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done.^{(A) 3} So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.^(B)

¹⁰ for those who enter God’s^[a] rest also rest from their labors as God did from his.

¹² Moreover, I gave them my Sabbaths, as a sign between me and them, so that they might know that I the Lord sanctify them.^(A)

³ For we who have believed are entering that rest, just as God^[a] has said,

though his works were finished since the foundation of the world. ⁴ For somewhere it speaks about the seventh day as follows, “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.”^(A)

²⁰ and hallow my Sabbaths that they may be a sign between me and you, so that you may know that I the Lord am your God.”

⁴¹ I will rejoice in doing good to them, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness, with all my heart and all my soul.^(A)
