^7 (A)But the people of Israel were fruitful and increased greatly; they multiplied and grew exceedingly strong, so that the land was filled with them.

³ Then he said, “I am God, ^(A)the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for there I will ^(B)make you into a great nation.

⁵ “And you shall make response before the Lord your God, ‘A ^(A)wandering Aramean was my father. And he went down into Egypt and sojourned there, ^(B)few in number, and there he became a nation, great, mighty, and populous.

²⁷ Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt, ^(A)in the land of Goshen. ^(B)And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly.

¹¹ And God said to him, ^(A)“I am God Almighty:^[a] be ^(B)fruitful and multiply. ^(C)A nation and a company of nations shall come from you, and kings shall come from your own body.^[b]

^2 (A)And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.

²³ You multiplied their children ^(A)as the stars of heaven, and you brought them into the land that you had told their fathers to enter and possess.

²² Your fathers went down to Egypt ^(A)seventy persons, and now the Lord your God has made you ^(B)as numerous as the stars of heaven.

⁴ and said to me, ‘Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a company of peoples and will give this land to your offspring after you ^(A)for an everlasting possession.’

^3 (A)God Almighty^[a] bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a company of peoples. ⁴ May he give ^(B)the blessing of Abraham to you and to your offspring with you, that you may take possession of ^(C)the land of your sojournings that God gave to Abraham!”
