²⁷ and ^(A)give no opportunity to the devil.

^11 (A)Put on ^(B)the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against ^(C)the schemes of the devil.

⁹ And ^(A)the great dragon was thrown down, ^(B)that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, ^(C)the deceiver of the whole world—^(D)he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

¹² Therefore, ^(A)rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But ^(B)woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because ^(C)he knows that his time is short!”

⁹ Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? ¹⁰ Have you not put ^(A)a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have ^(B)blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. ¹¹ But ^(C)stretch out your hand and ^(D)touch all that he has, and he will ^(E)curse you ^(F)to your face.” ¹² And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

Jesus Foretells Peter's Denial

³¹ “Simon, Simon, behold, ^(A)Satan demanded to have you,^{[a] (B)}that he might sift you like wheat,

¹¹ so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for ^(A)we are not ignorant of his designs.
