15 He made of no effect the law consisting of commands and expressed in regulations, so that He might create(A) in Himself one(B) new man from the two, resulting in peace. 16 He did this so that He might reconcile both to God in one body(C) through the cross and put the hostility to death by it.[a] 17 When the Messiah came, He proclaimed the good news(D) of peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.(E)

15 by setting aside in his flesh(A) the law with its commands and regulations.(B) His purpose was to create in himself one(C) new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross,(D) by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace(E) to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.(F)
