Prayer for Spiritual Strength

¹⁴ For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,

¹⁶ I ^(A)do not cease to give thanks for you, ^(B)remembering you in my prayers, ¹⁷ that ^(C)the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, ^(D)may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, ^18 (E)having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is ^(F)the hope to which he has called you, what are ^(G)the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, ¹⁹ and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, ^(H)according to the working of ^(I)his great might

⁵ When our days there were ended, we departed and went on our journey, and they all, with wives and children, ^(A)accompanied us until we were outside the city. And ^(B)kneeling down on the beach, we prayed

⁵ And at the ^(A)evening sacrifice I rose from my fasting, with my garment ^(B)and my cloak torn, and fell upon my knees ^(C)and spread out my hands to the Lord my God,

Solomon's Benediction

^54 (A)Now as Solomon finished offering all this prayer and plea to the Lord, he arose from before the altar of the Lord, where he had ^(B)knelt with hands outstretched toward heaven.

¹⁰ so that at the name of Jesus ^(A)every knee should bow, ^(B)in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

⁴¹ And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and ^(A)knelt down and prayed,
