From Death to Life

2 You were dead through the trespasses and sins

¹³ And when you were dead in trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God^[a] made you^[b] alive together with him, when he forgave us all our trespasses,^(A)

⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ^[a]—by grace you have been saved— ⁶ and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places^[b] in Christ Jesus,

The New Life in Christ

3 So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.^{(A) 2} Set your minds on the things that are above, not on the things that are on earth, ³ for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.^{(B) 4} When Christ who is your^[a] life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.^(C)

² For the law of the Spirit^[a] of life in Christ Jesus has set you^[b] free from the law of sin and of death.^(A)

²⁵ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.^[a] Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live,^{(A) 26} and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

¹⁸ they are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of their ignorance and hardness of heart.^(A)

²¹ Indeed, just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.^(A)

²⁵ “Very truly, I tell you, the hour is coming and is now here when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.^(A)

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life because we love the brothers and sisters. Whoever does not love abides in death.^(A)
